STEAM Academy is committed to providing a full year curriculum in Math, Science, ELA/Reading, Social Studies, and History, but we cannot do it without the support of parents at home. Successful students have equal support at STEAM Academy and at home, and we want to make sure every student has the resources they need to thrive.<br>
The homeschool hybrid program does not replace the responsibility of the homeschool parent. It is imperative that parents provide guidance at home, hold students accountable, and seek guidance when needed. Our staff are here to help you on this homeschool journey.
Parents are also expected to volunteer for social activities to ensure the success of our program. We simply cannot run this program without parent involvement. Events may be cancelled if we do not have enough parent involvement, and we want to avoid that at all costs.
STEAM Academy’s hybrid homeschool program combines elements of traditional homeschooling with in-person classroom learning, offering students a blend of home-based and structured learning experiences.
- What it is STEAM Academy’s hybrid homeschool program: Hybrid homeschooling involves students attending formal classes in a traditional classroom setting for part of the week and completing the rest of their education at home. Classrooms are full of discussions, project based learning and hands on activities. Lessons are assigned on alternate days for students to complete at home with family guidance.
- Flexibility: This model offers flexibility, allowing families to tailor their child’s education to their individual needs and interests, while still providing the benefits of a structured learning environment.
- Varied Models: Hybrid programs can take many forms, ranging from attending classes a few days a week to enrolling in our STEAM Day Enrichment classes or utilizing structured personalized instruction designed just for homeschoolers.
- Benefits: STEAM Academy’s hybrid homeschool program provides access to social opportunities, structured field trips, and learning from other adults, while still allowing students to benefit from the flexibility and personalized learning of homeschooling.
- Parent Involvement: Parents are expected to work with and guide the child both formally by teaching prepared lessons and informally by recognizing teachable moments. This program is a family involved program where families and staff collaborate to build a learning environment beyond the textbook.
- Collaboration: STEAM Academy’s hybrid homeschool program involves a collaboration between instructors and parents to educate each child. Instructors will provide feedback on assignments but it is the responsibility of the parents to grade assignments and at home assessments with materials provided to them.
- Community: Students feel a sense of community and belonging while still primarily enjoying all the benefits of homeschooling. With monthly social activities, family events, spirit days, science fairs and book reports; students, educators and caregivers develop authentic relationships.
